MY LIGHTBULB MOMENT

Today I learned the name for an iconic effect used in photos, Im talking about the Ken burn effect which is where you add movement to still images by zooming in slowly into different parts of the image or just moving around throug different areas of the photo. I never knew the official name for this effect I would see it being used in like slideshows of images or in videos whene someone is explaining something on an image they use the Ken burn effect.

HOW OSLA HELPED ME

 I never knew I had a real passion for photography and videogrpahy as I do now but I think the reason is because I never had the freedom to do it. You see being in school or class it causes you to get distracted by all the work they give you but now thanks to OSLA I found my passion for photography. In OSLA I get the freedom to actually learn and work on my interest which for me is photography I also already did 3 photoshoots where I actually got paid for my work, if I were to have been in normal class this year I don't think I would have gotten these opportunities I'm getting now in OSLA. It all started with just a phone camera now slowly moving our way up to a real good professional camera.

I HAVE A DREAM

         I HAVE A DREAM.... well a lot of dreams actually and I enjoy every single one of them. Half the time my dreams are about my interest which is photography/videography but if it's not that it is random things I don't even know about. I have a huge interest in photography it's the one thing I never get tired of and love doing, everyday I wake up I check my emails and social media since that's where I usually get contacted in. I spend most of the day learning different photography skills then the other half I'm out trying those skills or just taking photos of anything interesting out in the street also known as Street photography, by the time I get home it's already 8 or 9 and editing takes usually 20 min each picture adding all of that up I'd say I spend around 40 hours in my interests which is really good I'm hoping to make the number around 46 or 50 but only if I'm working professionally. Now back to dreams, I read two different poems with the perspective of each writer, they were called  Poe & Hughes. I really enjoyed poes perspective especially compared to Hughes's, Why? Well I like what Poe said which is "dream within a dream" Days go by a lot of people don't think about what day do night and day they live and flow through everything like a dream as they lay to rest and fall into a deep sleep they start to dream withing a dream.

NOTES ON COMPUTER BIAS

Today I met with my OSLA members to discuss computers and if they are racist/biased. I heard a good amount of input but the one that mostly stood out to me was that computers are biased and racist but it's because we made them that way. You see computers are smarter than humans but at the end of the day we humans are the ones that created them so they will adapt some things from us that being racist or baised. 

MY DECLARATION HACK

 I was one of the persons that typed an "Okay" in our declaration but I had a reason too, You see as i read through our declaration I noticed it was almost perfect I say almost because nothing is perfect but all the input my members gave in the declaration was excellent for me it's like they took the words out of my mouth so I really didn't want to mess anything up by adding forced opinions.

TRANSIENT THINKING

 Today was the first time I really took the time to look up the word transient, I always hear this word being used around in shows or in person but I never really paid attention to how it was being used or what its actual meaning is. After looking around I got an understanding that the word means stationary or in simple words someone or something that can't stay in a single place, now what would it mean for our declaration? Well I'm my understanding is right it just means our declaration can keep changing as time goes on we can decide at anytime to change it.

SAME SONG SUNG

 When a song is recorded in a different format it usually ruins the quality of the song by compressing the audio. When audio gets compressed it loses a lot of information for example, the audio won't sound as clear and crisp since it's been changed once you start messing with the original audio file it automatically starts losing its quality causing instruments and voices to sound a bit muffled. I didn't know much about this until I recently discovered an app called tidal which let's you stream music in CD quality which means it's the closest thing to the original audio file, the difference is amazing when you compare tidal files to a normal compressed file in Spotify or Apple music. If you have good headphones or speakers with somewhat good wifi you will be able to stream music in master quality which makes everything sound so crisp and clear it's almost like if you were in the studio where they recorded the song.

Choropleth Map thoughts

 

I never knew the official name for these types of maps but I always enjoyed studying them since it makes everything so much easier. I mostly would see these maps in history maps since they are used to separate facts throughout different states and continents using colors or highlights.

A STRANGER IS JUST A FRIEND I HAVEN'T MET YET

 Today in class I met a new student named Cesar he's a pretty cool dude he was friendly which is a plus when meeting new people. We mostly just talked about what school he came from and what grade he was in other than that we just did work.

HOW I GET THINGS DONE

 I like to always plan ahead of everything that's including how my day will go. I'm a huge overthinker so I'm my brain is constantly working and thinking which allows me to rarely forget about things since they just keep playing in my head until I get them done.  I usually do all my blog work at night or in the afternoon since that's when I'm the most energetic also it's the time everything gets quiet which really allows me to concentrate especially on writing.  I usually focus on my blog work first then everything else, like I said I do everything in the afternoon so right after class I take some time to relax and clear my mind of the screen my going out for an hour or 2 then it's back to working and screen time.

BIG QUESTION

My big question was easy for me since it's the biggest question I've had since I got interested in photography which is 'How will I get into the professional world without any connections?" I know it won't be easy but I will figure it out as I go you never know what can happen or who you could meet, It always takes one person to change your life completely.

MY LEARNING BUFFET

 Investing, Real Estate, photography, and Pressure washing, all of these things that I'm interested in doing have something that can help one another. You see these topics are important to me because I can do all of them at the same time for example Photography is needed pretty much anywhere including Real estate, when property owners are trying to sell a property they always want to make it look nice and appealing but in order for that he will need good photos for online marketing which is where I come in I can offer my photography services to them which will at the same time help me get connections in the real estate world that can later on help me on my own properties and while I'm at it I can offer them pressure washing services too. If a driveway and roof are dirty it won't be as attractive compared to ones that are clean and well maintained. Some of the money I earn from these services will be invested into crypto and stocks which will help me double my money or even triple it. I make sure everything I want to do will help my other business grow because if it doesn't then there is no point in wasting money and time on it. And last but not least open up a ROTH IRA so I can at least have something to retire with in my 60s if all goes wrong but if not then it will be even more money for me to use.

Osvaldos Graduation- Osvaldos father contacted me if I can photograph their graduation party I gladly accepted since it would be my first photoshoot with someone I didn't know. In this photo you see the band and some friend of theirs that were their singing, I didn't include the family because it would be a little disrespectful using their personal photo without their knowing.

LEARNING FEEDBACK

 I believe that my photos are amazing I always take so much time editing and making sure that nothing is wrong or overdone, but that doesn't mean I don't question my work at times. You see you can be confident in your work but there are going to be times that you second guess yourself 'Does this actually look good?" But then I remember the feedback I have received from my previous photos. I've had great photographers give me feedback on my photos which have really struck and kept me going. Something that has been told to me and that will always stick with me is "There will always be an audience out there that enjoys what you do you just have to go out there and find that audience".

I'M HAVING THE TIME OF MY LIFE

       Managing time is important not only does it help keep things in order it also helps make things go as planned. If you compare someone who just goes on with their day without Managing time to someone that does you will see a difference in the way things play out for example someone that doesn't mange their time are you usually on the edge of everything by that I mean they're always running around trying to keep up with the next thing on their list at times they probably even forget or don't end up doing something just because they didnt have time or forgot. Someone that manages their time have huge control over their live since they always plan ahead  or atleast have an idea of how their day is going to be, they also have more flexibility during the day since they know if they will be able to do some before it's time to do something else they won't be stressing as much. I had no questions for this chapter is amazing how I'm already thinking about the things he mentions in the book "Time For Success".

ANTICIPATION

There is a lot I want to learn which is a good thing but a bad thing since I want to do everything all at once. I've been able to manage how I do things better so this year I'm planning on focusing on improving my editing skills and learn how to edit on Adobe Premiere Pro. Adobe Premiere Pro is a video editing software that a lot of professionals use to edit their videos and sometimes even movies. The thing about Adobe Premiere Pro is that it has a lot of tools you can use to create amazing videos. The only thing holding me back right now is that I have no way of using the program since the school computer is capable of running it and sadly I can't run programs like that on my phone. I'm planning on buying a PC halfway this year since I want to make sure I get all the specs I need in order to edit and work smoothly and calm. If I'm able to learn how to use Premiere Pro it's going to open a lot of doors for me and my creations can be endless since I'll be able to pretty much create anything that comes to mind as long as I learn how.
